spiritual direction

Spiritual Direction is help given by one Christian to another that enables them to pay attention to God’s communication, respond to God’s invitation, grow in intimacy with God and live out the consequences of that relationship.

Spiritual Direction differs from mentoring or counselling in that the focus is not on fixing problems but on helping the person notice God within their lived experience. Anything may be brought to the conversation, and the Director listens without judgment, allowing the person to engage directly with God.

different kinds of ACCOMPANIMENT

We meet with a few people monthly for an hour at a time, either in person or over video conference, as many times as necessary. This extended spiritual direction is offered for a recommended donation of between €30 and €55 per session to help with related expenses.

In addition, I, Miranda, offer a twelve-week package of spiritual direction with a specific focus on one’s relationship with the body. In six sessions that are one-hour each, we reflect on the ways God is present in an individual’s physical life. The suggested donation for this package is €180. My book on this subject can also be purchased through this link.

Finally, we are happy to offer single sessions to those participating in an individual or group retreat. The cost of these sessions will be absorbed into the overall retreat fee.

Check availability or book an initial chat by contacting us. Once you have booked your session, you can make donations or deposits here.

The History

Though rooted in Orthodox and Catholic traditions, Spiritual Direction has become a valued practice across all streams of the Church. In recent decades, it has gained recognition within Protestant contexts as a way of listening together for the movement of the Holy Spirit in a person’s life. To find out even more about it - its history, where we find it in Scripture, who it's for and how it works,

check out this resource by Grove Books that explains it all in a few short chapters.

In this short video, I explain some of the ways we are helped in our walk of faith by being accompanied by someone who is trained to ask non-judging, open questions that turn our attention to the presence of God in our lives.
